Notice from Local 1549 Elections Committee on Candidate Observers

To facilitate access for election observers during the counting of the ballots on Friday November 22, 2024, each candidate may submit the name and contact information of one person to serve as an election observer for the counting of the ballots to the Elections Committee at electionscommittee7@gmail.com. The ballot count will be conducted in-person on the 22nd.

As per the AFSCME Constitution, appendix D, section J, " Any candidate whose name is to appear on a paper, screen or electronic ballot shall have the right to have present an official observer of the candidate’s own choosing, who must be a member of the Federation, in all places where ballots bearing the candidate’s name are to be prepared, distributed, cast or counted." Observers may not be someone listed on the ballot as a candidate.
