Notice from Local 1549 Elections Committee

On behalf of the entire Elections Committee, we want to thank everyone who has participated in the nomination process for Local 1549 Officers, Trustees and Delegates.

Nominations opened on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at an in person two-session special general membership and concluded with electronic nominations on October 2, 2024. Below are the nominations for the posted positions per the nominations notice mailed to all members last known address on file at DC 37.

Also, all eligible nominees shall be afforded the opportunity to decline their nomination before 10:00 a.m. October 7, 2024, by submitting an email to the Elections Committee at: electionscommittee7@gmail.com. Nominations are subject to change based on eligibility per the AFSCME International Constitution, DC 37 Constitution, and the Local 1549 Constitution.

Candidates’ names will appear on the ballots in alphabetical order by the first letter of their last name with their first name appearing first.

Any candidates that wish to exercise the option of sending campaign literature to eligible voters must make this request to the election committee and is subject to certain limitations. The campaign literature can be sent through regular mail or electronically through email. The cost incurred for either distribution is the responsibility of the candidate. All mailing requests should be made to the election committee by November 12, 2024 by 5 p.m.
