NOTICE OF NOMINATIONS AND ELECTION

Dear Local 1549 Members –

On September 9, 2024, the official notice to advise you of the NYC Clerical-Administrative Employees, Local 1549, AFSCME, AFL-CIO nominations and elections notice for local officers, trustees, District Council 37 delegates and NYC Central Labor Council delegates was mailed to each member address on file. This is in accordance with Appendix D (Election Code), Article IV of the AFSCME International Constitution.

  • A meeting to accept nominations for local officer, trustee and delegate positions will be held on Tuesday, October 1, in-person, with two sessions, at Delta Building; NYC Seminar & Conference Center 114 West 26th Street - 3rd Floor New York, NY 10001. Sessions 1 will commence at 10:00 a.m. sharp and Session 2 will commence at 6:00 p.m. sharp.
  • Additional nominations will be accepted by the election committee by email at electionscommittee7@gmail.com on October 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Only nominations submitted then will be accepted.
  • The mail-ballot election for local officers, trustees, District Council 37 delegates and NYC Central Labor Council delegates will be held from November 1, 2024, to November 22, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. Cast ballots will be tallied at 11:00 a.m. on November 22.

The secret ballot election for Local 1549 officers, trustees, District Council 37 delegates and NYC Central Labor Council delegates will be conducted by mail ballot using AAA Election Services. Ballots with voting instructions will be mailed to the members’ home addresses on file on or about Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

In the event no candidate for a Local Officer or Trustee position receives a majority of the eligible votes cast, a run-off election shall be held. Voting instructions for run-off elections, if necessary, will be mailed to the membership on or about November 26, 2024. Voting for the run-off elections, if necessary, will open November 26, 2024, and close December 20, 2024, 9:00 a.m. Cast ballots will be tallied December 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.

Members who do not receive a ballot for the election by November 6, 2024, may contact AAA at 1- 800-529-5218 (during normal business hours). Members may also make requests by e-mailing requests to Sacha Ulerio at ulerios@adr.org to request a duplicate ballot be mailed. Requests for duplicate ballots for the election, if any, will not be accepted after November 18, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.

If a run-off election is necessary, members who do not receive a ballot by December 5, 2024, may contact AAA at 1-800-529-5218 (during normal business hours) to request a duplicate ballot be mailed. Requests for duplicate ballots for a runoff election, if any, will not be accepted after December 16, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.

Requests for duplicate ballots must include the following: Member’s first and last name, home mailing address (Street, City, State, Zip Code), phone number, and must note you're from: Local 1549, DC 37 AFSCME.
